She pulled it off...

So she may not be my favourite celebrity in the world, however Cheryls Cole's new range for website stylist pick has just been launched. She designed every pair and I didnt think she would be much use however some are not bad. Here are my favourites from the collection...
This black studded pair are a perfect party shoe with the studs giving them a bit of glam.
I think these boots would be great for daytime as the red will brighten up any outfit and the thick wooden heel will make them comfortable for walking about it.

Screen idols...

Some of my favourite fashion icons are also silver screen beauties and are all from the 50s era, it is probably my favourit fashion era so I thought I would share my favourite ladies with you...

Grace Kelly is possibly the most beautiful women who ever graced our screens. I love her in high society and she also had amazing style. She prefered to wear a tailored look during the day she was always super feminine and glamorous whenever she dressed up. I think this picture shows just how fashionable she was in a tight fitted black dress which makes her look amazing.

Marilyn Monroe is also one of the most beautiful women ever and was and still is an inspiration to curvy women. She always wore beautiful dresses which showed off her curves and made her the style icon that she is today. Her iconic picture in the white dress is a popular choice for a fancy dress outfit. This gold dress shows off those famous curves perfectly an shows just how beautiful she really was.

Emma's Essentials...

So its a friday night and I am stuck in the flat trying to do some coursework as it seems to be never ending. And seeing as this blog is called Emma's Essentials I have decided to tell you some of my essentials.

My essesntial food - it has to be pasta, I know its a carb so really you shouldnt eat too much of it but when I was little it was my staple food and that has never changed.

My essential place - you can never beat home, as much as I like to go on holiday nothing is as good as going back to my mums and getting a good feed and staying in a warm house.

My essential shop - as I work in Primark I should probably say that but I have to say that it changes all the time, one week I like one shop the best and the next week another.

My essential book - I'm a sucker for Harry Potter but who isnt! they are just amazing and i'm not ashamed to admit that I love them.

My essential film - it has to be High Society its an old film which start Grace Kelly and Frank Sinatra and I have watched it that many times the film now skips, I adore Grace Kelly and she is amazing in the film!

My essential TV Programme - I seem to spend most of my nights curled under a blanket on my couch watching the TV these days and recently I have been watching re-runs of old The O.C episodes and although I seen them all first time around I love Seth Cohen so cant help but watch it!

Thats enough about me for tonight, its the weekend now which means work for me! But my two week staff discount starts on Monday so I will be searching for everyones presents while avoiding the mad rush that is Christmas shoppers!

Another long day...

So I am currently sitting in the mac lab at uni trying to get most of my coursework done, but struggling to use InDesign. So I have ended up cruising the internet and have found a necklace on ASOS that I really want, I'm not usually a jewellery shopper however this piece caught my eye and I have to say I think I might buy it as it will go with most outfits.

I also found these two tops on Topshop which I think I will buy myself seeing as today is SAAS day which also means paying my rent:(  however I feel buying these will brighten up my day and my boyfriend is treating me to a night out at the cinema tonight (orange wednesday of course) so one of them may get its first outing tonight

My Cosy Collection...

Now that the cold has finally made its full appearance in Aberdeen, its time to wrap up. I have quite a lot of coats however i always end up wearing the same ones. My favourite is my leather jacket from Zara which was only £40 (fake leather!) however it looks good and is really comfortable. Here is a similar one from Topshop which is real and costs £150.
And on the extremely cold days I rely on my trusty green parka. Reliving the MOD style it looks good and is really cosy. I got it from New Look and it was quite cheap. Here is Topshops version.

Its always good to have a new winter coat every year, however I just cant find one that I like this year so I think I will just stick to my parka for keeping me warm this year.

Seasons greetings...

With the festive season upon us I cant wait to go home and celebrate with my family. I've already got tickets to go to the panto on Christamas eve with my boyfriend and his family, and I cant wait, you can never beat a good panto and I've not been since I was little. I am then going out for drinks with my mum so just hoping we dont feel too rough on Christmas day!

So for Christmas day I have been trying to find the perfect christmas jumpers for me and my boyfriend so that we can channel the Bridget Jones & Mr Darcy look. I managed to find these two from Topshop and Topman.

I have yet to persuade Matthew to wear a polar bear jumper, however I am hoping that he will agree to it and I'm sure we will look smashing. I also bought a new sparkly nail polish to wear over any colour and it will brighten up any festive outfit.

Birthday celebrations

So i will be going home for Christmas which is amazing and I will get to spend the festive time with my family and friends. And on the 29th of December it is my best friend Michele's birthday so were all going to Dundee for a big night out to celebrate with her. It may be a few weeks away but I am already planning my outfit for it. I have found a dark red blazer that I really want and is from as hop I never usually go into, Internacionale. It is under £30 and will go with most outfits. However I cant for the life of me find a picture of it, however i have found a similar one which is from Topshop.

I plan on just wearing black so that the blazer will stand out but I do have a new pair of leopard print heeled boots which I have only worn once so I think they are in need of a night out too. I cant wait to see what all the other girls will wear too and I cant wait fora good night out with all of the girls from home.

Every girl needs new shoes...

Every girl loves staring at expensive shoes and wishes they were theirs and this includes me. There is nothing better than buying a new pair of shoes and falling in love with them. Whether its casual shoes for daytime, boots for winter or heels for going out, I can never help myself from buying them.

I love this pair of sparkly beauties! They're from Topshop and are £62 and are perfect for the party season. As they are black they will go perfect with any party outfit and are totally eyecatching.

As every blogger knows Chelsea boots are a must have. And this season has shown every high street shop selling them. I love this pair from River Island. And the best part is they are a total bargain at only £40.

For daytime shoes, you cant beat a pair of converse. This pair are only £38 from Office and I am hoping that I get this pair for my Christmas from my boyfriend seeing as I have mentioned many times that I am in need of a new pair.

Getting my face on...

I love browsing make-up in Boots and Superdrug and recently my make up bag has turned into a mostly Rimmel collection. I used to always use a mixed collection of items but now they seem to be all Rimmel. So I thought I would share my essential things to use when getting my face on...

This is the lasting finish foundation which I have used for as long as I can remember. I have to wear ivory because I am always pale, and it does last for ages and it matches my skin quite well so just makes my skin look much better. I also recently bought the match perfection powder and the match perfection conceler.

This is the exaggerate liquid eyeliner and I love it. It stays on for hours and goes on really easily without smudges, along with this I wear the new Scandaleyes mascara which is really good for volumising lashes.

I was raiding my mums make-up bag recently and found a new lipstick she bought so I tried it on because it wasn't a colour I would normally wear and I fell in love with it. Its the show off lipstick range and i got the colour "stare at me" and its quite dark but I wear it all the time now. I also have the Kate Moss lipstick in colour 03 which is a nude colour and is great for during the day to keep make-up natural.

So theres my eseesntial make-up items for just now but no doubt it will change in a few weeks when I come across something new.

Essential party frocks

Ruth, Hannah, Lorna & Me

So last week was time for my first ever photshoot! For part of my uni course this year my group and I had to style a shoot on any theme we wanted. We decided on "Essex Glam" and all got dolled up for the day. Seeing as I have never modelled before it was a nerve-wracking day but it turned out to be a total laugh, especially when Hannah fell on her arse! Would just like to say thank you to Lauren who hid behind the camera but told us what to do and the three girls from Aberdeen College who took our pics. We all wore our own dresses and did our own hair and make-up so well chuffed that they turned out ok!

These two are probably my fave pictures from the day and as this is called "Emma's Essentials" these are my essential party frocks as it is coming up to the party season. And every girl needs an essential party dress. Mines is actually from a store called Dunnes and was only £19, I chose it as it is bright red so will stand out and also because it flares out at the waist it hides the dreaded tummy! Ruth also let me borrow the animal print scarf and she tied it around me to make it stand out even more.
