Getting my face on...

I love browsing make-up in Boots and Superdrug and recently my make up bag has turned into a mostly Rimmel collection. I used to always use a mixed collection of items but now they seem to be all Rimmel. So I thought I would share my essential things to use when getting my face on...

This is the lasting finish foundation which I have used for as long as I can remember. I have to wear ivory because I am always pale, and it does last for ages and it matches my skin quite well so just makes my skin look much better. I also recently bought the match perfection powder and the match perfection conceler.

This is the exaggerate liquid eyeliner and I love it. It stays on for hours and goes on really easily without smudges, along with this I wear the new Scandaleyes mascara which is really good for volumising lashes.

I was raiding my mums make-up bag recently and found a new lipstick she bought so I tried it on because it wasn't a colour I would normally wear and I fell in love with it. Its the show off lipstick range and i got the colour "stare at me" and its quite dark but I wear it all the time now. I also have the Kate Moss lipstick in colour 03 which is a nude colour and is great for during the day to keep make-up natural.

So theres my eseesntial make-up items for just now but no doubt it will change in a few weeks when I come across something new.

Essential party frocks

Ruth, Hannah, Lorna & Me

So last week was time for my first ever photshoot! For part of my uni course this year my group and I had to style a shoot on any theme we wanted. We decided on "Essex Glam" and all got dolled up for the day. Seeing as I have never modelled before it was a nerve-wracking day but it turned out to be a total laugh, especially when Hannah fell on her arse! Would just like to say thank you to Lauren who hid behind the camera but told us what to do and the three girls from Aberdeen College who took our pics. We all wore our own dresses and did our own hair and make-up so well chuffed that they turned out ok!

These two are probably my fave pictures from the day and as this is called "Emma's Essentials" these are my essential party frocks as it is coming up to the party season. And every girl needs an essential party dress. Mines is actually from a store called Dunnes and was only £19, I chose it as it is bright red so will stand out and also because it flares out at the waist it hides the dreaded tummy! Ruth also let me borrow the animal print scarf and she tied it around me to make it stand out even more.
